We are chartering cargo planes to take essential relief supplies to Puerto Rico . Our first shipment of 20 tons (over 40,000 bottles!) arrived on the island November 1, 2017. Puerto Rico is still not receiving enough immediate aid due to a number of logistical issues. We have been in constant communication with many people on the island and they have all confirmed that the primary need is clean drinking water. Because of the generosity of our donors and partners, we now have the ability to charter cargo airplanes and make these crucial shipments of supplies donated by Grace and Peace Community Church in Chicago, a reality. LIPA, LTD has coordinated delivery and distribution of the water and has personally received the shipments in Puerto Rico with the help of local volunteers who are assisting us in getting relief to the people who need it most.
On November 6, 2017 we delivered over 11,000 bottles of purified drinking water to Juan B. Soto Elementary School in Aguada, PR. The school had already made necessary repairs to remedy hurricane damage when we got there, but still needed clean drinking water to serve the children in order to open. We were able to deliver that water and the school staff and community took action and opened the school immediately.
We are using 100% of what we receive to aid Puerto Rico's food and shelter crisis.
We greatly appreciate your help! The situation in Puerto Rico is dire and the people there are in great need of relief.
